Correcting a lot after it is written
How to change a title, an estimate or a photograph afterwards, and what happens to a correction made without signal.
A written lot is never final. Open it from the sale and use the Correct the record section at the foot of its screen. You can change the title, the description, the condition note, the grade, the section, the consignor and both estimates, then press Save the correction.
Photographs have their own controls on the same screen. Another photograph adds one, up to the limit of 12 on a lot, and Take the photograph off removes the one you choose from the list. See Photographs.
The lot's number is not part of a correction. A number identifies the lot in the sale, so it stays with the lot even if you change everything else about it.
A correction made on a phone follows the same route as a new lot: it is saved on the phone, shown in the outbox as "a correction to a lot", and sent when there is signal. If the book turns it down, the outbox shows the reason and the lot on the book is left as it was. Correct the figure and try again.
Corrections need a writable book: they work on the free first lots and on the plan. If the book has gone read-only, see The plan; the lot can still be read.
To remove a whole sale and everything in it, see Taking a sale off the book.
