The plan, the free first lots, and when the book reads only
What is free, what the plan costs and covers, and exactly what a house can and cannot do in each state.
A new house writes its first 25 lots free, with no card. That includes their photographs, as many sales, sections and consignors as you want, and the printable catalogue. Nothing about it expires.
The plan is $79/month for the auction house, billed monthly, covering every sale, every lot and every cataloguer. It does not go up with the number of lots or people. It starts at lot 26, and it is what lets you take a sale out as a CSV. Payment is taken by card on Stripe's own checkout page; Lotdesk never sees the card.
The states a book can be in:
- Free. Up to 25 lots written, edits allowed. Past that, a new lot is turned down with "not on the plan yet", and lots written on a phone wait safely until the house is on the plan. The CSV needs the plan.
- On the plan. Everything works.
- A card payment failed. The book keeps writing for 7 days from the first failed payment, with a banner saying so, then it reads but does not write. Update the card and nothing changes.
- The plan has ended. The book reads but does not write. Every lot is still there, the catalogue prints, and the CSV can still be taken.
In every state a lot already written is shown, never hidden.
The book opens by what the payment provider reports about the subscription, not by the checkout page. If you paid with a different email address from the one the book was opened with, sign in and use Match your payment (at /claim) with the payment's email and the last four of the receipt number.
To stop paying, see Cancelling, refunds and the card.
