Who can see your book, and where it is kept

Who can read a house's lots and photographs, where they are stored, and what Lotdesk does not do with them.

A house's book is private to the house. Anyone the house has given a login to can read it, and nobody else can. A lot, a sale or a photograph on one house's book is not reachable from another, and asking for one that is not yours gives the same answer as asking for one that does not exist.

The exception is the sample house, which is public on purpose. Never put a real consignor's details into it.

Where things are kept. The records and photographs are stored on servers run by Fly.io in the United States, on an encrypted volume. Card payments go through Stripe, and card data never reaches Lotdesk. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

What is held. The email address, a scrambled form of the password (never the password itself), and what the house has written: consignors and their terms, lots, descriptions, condition notes, estimates, photographs of the goods and each lot's state.

What Lotdesk does not do. There is no advertising, no analytics tracking and no third-party embeds. The one cookie keeps you signed in. Nothing is shared with anyone else, and there is no bidder or vendor login: the catalogue goes where you send it.

Your consignors' details. Names, addresses and terms are personal data the house is responsible for. Keep to what the job needs.

To take the records with you or have them deleted, see Getting your data out. What protects the book today is listed on the security page.
