Using Lotdesk on a phone and at the desk
One book, opened in the browser on the phone at the lot and on the computer in the office.
Lotdesk is a book you open in a web browser, so the phone at the piece and the computer in the office are looking at the same lots. Sign in with your email and password on each.
On the phone. This is where lots are written. Open the sale, choose Write a lot, and use the photograph field to take the picture with the phone's own camera. Everything you write is saved on the phone before anything is sent, and the outbox bar at the foot of the screen counts what has not gone yet. See The outbox.
At the desk. The larger screen suits the work that comes after: correcting a lot, adding photographs, ordering sections, entering consignors, putting lots into the catalogue, printing it and taking the CSV.
Tips that help on the phone:
- Save the page to the home screen with the browser's Add to Home Screen or Share menu so it opens in one tap. It is still the same page; nothing is installed from a store.
- Stay signed in. If the phone asks you to sign in again, the lots you have already written are not lost; they wait in the outbox. See Working with no signal.
- Use the browser you signed in with. Each browser keeps its own outbox.
