Two cataloguers, several phones, one book
How a team works at a sale: their own logins, one shared book, one outbox per phone, and numbering that does not collide.
Everyone cataloguing for the house writes into the same book, each with their own login. Add people from the Team page; see Adding and removing a cataloguer. The plan covers every cataloguer at one price, so the cost does not change with the size of the team.
What that means on the day:
- Each phone has its own outbox. What one person has written and not yet sent sits on their phone. It reaches the book when that phone has signal.
- Numbers do not collide. At the desk and in the browser, a lot is given the next free number when it reaches the book, so two people writing at once never get the same one. A phone that books a run of numbers keeps that run to itself; see How lot numbers work.
- Everyone sees the same lots. Open the sale on any device to see what has arrived. A lot still waiting on someone's phone is not there until it is sent.
- A lot can say who wrote it. Lots written by a named cataloguer carry that person's name.
If you need to know which phone has lots waiting, ask each cataloguer to read the number in the outbox bar before they leave the building. Another phone's outbox is not visible from yours.
Sign each person in on their own phone, in the browser they will use all day; see Working with no signal.
